Hi Strong Alumni,
Weβre excited to give you exclusive early access to our very first Feisty Womenβs Strength Retreat. This retreat will be held in Terrebone, OR (near Bend) from June 19-21 and is all about Olympic Lifting!
If you arenβt familiar with Olympic Lifting, it focuses on the snatch and the clean and jerk. It is the type of lifting we see in the Olympics (hence the name). Youβll also find this style of lifting in CrossFit gyms.
Why Olympic Lifting?
Well, itβs kind of badass ππ»ββοΈ but beyond that, it does a lot for your body and mind. Olympic lifting:
πͺ Gives you full body strength gains by incorporating pushing, pulling, squatting and jumping into each movement
ποΈββοΈ Helps you develop your fast twitch muscles and power output, which often support your other athletic endeavors.
π Improves mobility and overall coordination.
π§ Improves mental focus and clarity.
Did we mention itβs pretty badass? π
But what does Feisty know about Olympic Lifting? π€·ββοΈ
Thatβs a fair question, outside of a few of our team members being mediocre Olympic lifters, we donβt know a lot, but we do know one of the best coaches in the world and she has a passion for helping women of all levels learn the Olympic Lifts
Weβve partnered with Aimee Anaya Everrett to bring you this retreat. She was the first American female coach to coach at the Olympics (βΌοΈ) and has coached every level from world champion to the person who has never touched a barbell. |
